DOWN & BOOGIE
PG 1
Tom Summers Richfield, Minnesota
(ABOVE-Drag style bars came from The
Brothers and host Hallcraft master cylinder and VDO speedometer.)
Tom's scoot is low and sleek. Super clean
lines follow current trend in uncluttered street machines.
(LOWER LEFT-Engine is basically stock
750 running FuBar pipes and Drag Specialties air cleaner.)
(BELOW Fender is from Ness and carries
Cycle Seats padding all of which is supported by Smith Bros. & Fetrow
struts.)
PG 2
(ABOVE LEFT Neat electrical box came
from the Finch Works. TOP Super clean and narrow girder is from Smith Bros
and Fetrow. Light is Lucas quartz and front brake is from Hallcraft. Wheel
is 18'? ABOVE Super low rider frame is the "Street Digger" from Brothers
Custom Engineering. There aren't many bikes this clean around the Richfield,
Minnesota area and Tom's bike draws all sorts of attention. No hassle here,
lust an interested party. Gas tank is from Paughco. Bike was sprayed with
black lacquer by owner and then pin striped by D.J. Eckel.)
(ABOVE-Detailed pin striping was done
in green and yellow to stand out against the black backqround. Acorn nuts
from colony were used wherever possible. Molding was used for clean up
only. RIGHT The SB&F struts were originally made to fit a sporty, but
Tom modified them and the rear fender ~o clear huge Uniroyal radial tire.
Fender was widened 1 - 1/2'? Rear brake assembly is stock Honda. Notice
the neat folding passenger pegs. Tom says his low rider sits only 3 feet
off the ground at the top of the handlebars. Now that's low for a streetster!) |
