This is a small and quite simple tip, but if it is overlooked, the results can be ugly to a trick paint job. There can be many areas where a moving part strikes a painted part. Damage can be avoided by simply drilling and tapping a hole to fit a small button head allen bolt as a bumper, of sorts. The most common use of these for me is as fork stop, but I've had occasion to use them other places, like the kickstand stops as well. A simple button head can save your paint from getting beat to death.
